What You’ll Create:
A stunning vertical stained glass panel (approximately 10cm W x 50cm H) in your choice of design – perfect for floral patterns, abstract designs, geometric shapes, or nature-inspired motifs. Download the template HERE. Your finished piece will be fitted into a custom-made steel frame designed to be planted securely in your garden, creating an eye-catching focal point that glows beautifully when backlit by natural light.
Techniques You’ll Learn:
- Designing your garden panel and creating a working template
- Cutting glass to your chosen pattern
- Cutting and shaping traditional lead came
- Assembling glass pieces with lead
- Soldering techniques for strong, weatherproof joints
- Fitting your panel into the steel frame
- Professional finishing and waterproofing for outdoor durability
This course will take you through the complete process of designing your panel, creating a template, cutting glass, and cutting lead. These components will then be soldered together before being fitted into the frame, ready to plant in your garden.
All materials are included: glass in your choice of colours, lead came, solder, flux, and a custom-made steel frame to hold the stained glass and allow it to be planted securely in the garden.
The finished glass panel size will be approximately 10cm W x 50cm H, with some other choices of frame size available.

Important Safety Information: Please note that this course involves working with lead products and glass. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not attend. Please wear sturdy old clothing and closed-toe shoes – no open-toed shoes or sandals due to glass fragments.
