Stained Glass Panel

The ancient art of stained glass will be taught during this one-day workshop. Maxine will show you how to design, build, and assemble either:

1. Leaded Garden Panel (Full Day) – My most popular course! Create a stained glass panel to brighten up your garden. Includes a custom steel frame to hold the stained glass and plant it in the garden (approx 10 cm x 60 cm, choices of frame size available)
2. Copper Foil Taster Day (Full Day) – Design and create stained glass items in copper foil based on your own designs or adapt one of my selection of designs.
3. Leaded Suncatcher Panel (Full Day) – Create your own design or adapt one of my selection of designs. Panel size 20 cm by 30 cm.
4. Festive and other occasion decorations (Full Day) – Angels, Christmas Trees and Holly or other decorations for seasonal events
5. Dorset Arts Weeks (Half Day) – Afternoon courses 25th May until 9h June. Be part of Dorset Art Weeks, create your own copper foil panel  to take home as a personal memento (note this course starts at 1 pm until 4:30 pm). The studio will be open for visitors during Dorset Art Weeks, so you will become part of Dorset Art Weeks yourself! Special Price for Art Weeks…
6. Copper Foil Taster (Half Day) – Create a stained glass panel using a selection of designs

The cost of the course includes everything needed to make your panel and all the safety equipment needed. Throughout the day, there will be plenty of one-on-one tuition. Classes can hold up to four people.

During the course, you will complete all the steps required, including glass cutting, copper foiling or leading, soldering, and cementing using either one of your designs or mine.

The purpose-built studio is located in North Dorset. The studio also has a dedicated cloakroom. Please bring a lunch packed (except half day course), if needed this can be placed in a fridge (especially in summer). Lunch may be eaten in the garden during the summer or inside at other times.

Please wear old clothes and comfortable shoes (no open-toed shoes, please). This course is not suitable for pregnant or breastfeeding women due to the lead and solder. The studio has adjustable chairs, but some of the time will necessitate standing.
